My company owns about 30 gas trimmers. They are heavy, they vibrate and make allot of noise.A cordless trimmer is good for the normal size home.If you have allot of land you will have to go to gas.The corded has more power and more headache in dealing with the cord.

Generally, a corded trimmer will have more power than a battery-powered one because it has much more voltage at its disposal. A corded trimmer will also maintain constant power while a battery-powered one will decline as the battery charge is depleted.

gas is much more powerful. but as to which to get that depends on your needs. if you have a small yard and no thick brush to deal with then electric would work well. for a big yard and/or thick brush i'd rather have a gas trimmer, mine has changable ends so i can till/trim/and weedeat and more.

Electric has more power than battery power but gas has the most.

Both have pros & cons. Cords are cumbersome...often need more than one extension cord, gas is less earth friendly, batteries tend to produce less power but eliminate need for cord. Depends on your pref & needs.
