i start on the first of december, but i have a friend that starts the day after thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving. Two holidays in one! Ya!
My family belives that if you are going to decorate for Christmas and do all that work, then you should leave it up for a while. That's why we decorate so early!

My family has always put the tree up the day after Thanksgiving and our community has our christmas parade the monday after thanksgiving so I think it is a tradition.

I`m glad you reminded me. I have to put away Halloween, and bring out Thanksgiving. I keep all the displays in my attic.

Three thumbs down for simply telling the truth? Shame on all of you. She asked when you start decorating for Christmas, not when should she start decorating or if you decorate when do you start.
I'm still not decorating no matter how many thumbs down you give. It is a waste of electricity.

we started on the day after halloween and we are compltely decorated minus our nativity people only because my hubby cant find the box theyare in so he is still hunting for them... our tree and outside is done and lighted everynight by 5pm...
