Wow, I got so far and now I'm screwed. My mom has no assets so she cannot fill them out, we'll that's what she claims. My dad has bank accounts and assets up to $300,000. He does not want anything to do with the applications and refuses to even look at them. I cannot fill them out, I'm only 18. I don't know what to do... I can't go to university without financial aid, its to expensive. My parents were going to pay the Expected Family Contribution but now they have reneged. What should I do? Please help...

Have you had a serious sit-down talk with your parents? Tell them how their unwillingness to fill out forms hurts your future, etc.

leave out the assets and accounts, just put the salary of the parent who's claiming you on their taxes.
if they refuse to give you that information, just ask the school financial aid counselor, there are many ways to pay for college without having loans you just have to research it. go to every available source there is.

talk to your school counsler and see if they can show u a differant way there is always a secondary way just ask around and do some research
