This is a pretty tough question to ask. Give me your opinions on abortion and abortion alternatives.

No I don't. I think that the reason so many people choose that option is because it's TOO EASY to have one.

I think that more people don't TRY to protect themselves from possible prenancy simply because if it happens they can just go get sucked out.

All these people who say that abortion should be kept legal...y'all need to check out what really happens to these babies that are aborted...and how they perform those so-called mid-pregnancy (partial birth) abortion. You can only use the vacuum for a limited time....

And to all those people who are saying that crap about back alley abortions....do you even know the stats of how many of those were performed BEFORE abortion was made legal? Yeah...I didn't think so.

I think that people should practice safe sex, and abstinence. And consider all the couples out there who can't have children.

And rape and incest is still not a good reason....that baby shouldn't be punished by the actions of someone else...that child can still live a happy life after given up for adoption.

And as for the person that says the baby isn't alive. It has a heartbeat, that makes it alive. Are you saying all the people who may need to be on life support for a little while (who can't breath on their own) aren't alive? I would hate to be your relative...you would be way too quick to pull the plug.

Absolutely. If a girl (especially a rather young one) has been molested or raped and then becomes pregnant, she may not want to keep the child. How hard would it be to look at your attacker's child everyday and say "I love you"?

There are other, less sentimental reasons too.

One: a girl who's still in school doesn't need something like a baby tying her down, especially if it wasn't her fault and it wasn't consensual.

Two: if she's young enough, there could be severe complications during both pregnancy and the actual birth, endangering both mother and child.

this is more a political or legal quesiton, and does not belong in the pregnancy section.

yes, they should continue to be legal, because making them ILLEGAL would just increase the number of deaths caused by "back alley" abortions, deaths of babies AND the women (i know, many "pro-lifers" think a woman that gets an abortion doesnt deserve to live anyhow, but let's be humane) ESPECIALLY those of lower income, because the rich can always fly to another country & get one done safely, regardless.

not to mention: instances of rape or incest (and if you try to limit the elective aboritons to those cases, what if the female cannot prove it? what if she lies about it & causes a huge increase in false allegations?); severe birth defects; ectopic pregnancies; to save the mother's life (so she can have life-saving therapies)

AND, the government should just stay out of people's bodies.

No,
At 5 weeks pregnant I had an ultrasound and I saw my baby's heartbeat..

Most people don't even know there pregnant yet, and the baby already has a heart..

Now I am due in 3 weeks and that same little beating dot on the screen is going to be my son.

if you can't keep the child I think 9 months is not that big of a sacrifice considering the wonderful gift of another humane life in exchange.
when else is any ones life will you be giving the opportunity to do something so big for another person.
Thank God my Mom didn't believe in abortion !!

I think that other options (adoptions) need to be made easier and more appealing. I also think that birth control should be more widely promoted and more easily accessible amoug our young. Parents need to protect their children from creating unwanted babies. Obviously the promoting the abstinence thing isn't working so well.
There are many reasons that it should remain legal, even if I don't personally agree with it. When it was illegal women were going to horrendous lengths to have illegal abortions. Which were very dangerous, leading to infertility and life threatening infections.

Yes, I do. Keep your rosary out of my ovaries (and uterus). I don't want to have an abortion, but that's my choice. I'm not going to tell someone else they can't have one just because I don't. If you don't want one, don't get one, and keep your nose out of everyone else's business!

And for those who try to scare others into being anti-abortion because of partial-birth abortions-do you not realize those were outlawed a few years ago? They can't be done. Let it go.

No I don't think abortion should be legal. People use the whole "if a girl is raped" line I read a recent report that reported about 2 in every 100 abortions are done due to rape. That means 98 in 100 abortions are because women just don't want to have the baby period. Not because of rape. I think for medical reasons and rape victims abortion should be allowed (it's still wrong but it should be a woman's right to choose under those conditions) outside of that anyone who lays down to have unprotected sex should not be allowed to kill there baby because it's easier.

I used to be totally against abortion because I thought of it as murder. Than I started to see things on television of people having babies and leaving them in dumpsters or killing them and it started to make me realize that it would be better to kill the baby before it can actually feel and see things. Although I wish that there was no reason for abortion and that girls would just have the baby and take it to a hospital(most states have laws that allow them to do that with no questions asked). I also know that some situations are different, example could be a young girl getting raped, she may choose not to keep the baby because she cannot take care of it. I would never have an abortion, I just started to realize why someone may want to.

Me personaly i say no it shouldnt. Only in the cases of rape victums. if someone got pregnant and wasnt ready to be a parent they shouldnt have done it or they should have used protection. a baby is a gift. Abortions some times make women infertile, and mentaly unstable. i think it should be illegal except in rape victums unless they want to keep the baby.
