If you admit to yourself that you are insane, it means that you are aware about yourself, and insanes are usually unaware of themselves.
Edit: have you seen any insane admitting he is?

It's a catch 22. If you can tell that you are insane, that means that you are still sane enough to reason and logic...so you can't be insane and know that you're insane!

If there is a question in your mind about it, see a doctor and they will let you know. Chances are you are probably not insane, just depressed and they can medicate you so you can come back to earth.

It really is a catch 22, but if you still have some reasoning ability left then you might still be able to be self-objective. For instance, if you think that random events have a specific meaning targeted just towards you then you might have a symptom of schizophrenia. It really depends on how coherent you still are.

You'll never know your "insane", but you might feel that something just isn't quite right.
you'll recognize that your having troubles where you feel you shouldn't.
