Yep. Lots of fun. I've shown a few heifers and a steer. A maineanjou, a herfordXangus, and a Santa GertrudisX Galloway. Bottle raised the herfordX. A bunch of goats too. About 12 of them. And turkeys. Turkeys are always fun to raise. I've gotten grand champion twice with my herefordX, once when she was a baby and once when she was full grown, 1st with my Maine when he was a little calf and 2nd when he was full grown, and my santagertrudis was always small so she never did too well. And I've been in master showmanship twice for regular, and once for breeding class.

I've never shown cattle but I, too, had cousins who did way back in the 1960s. They had Angus. Another friend of mine showed Jerseys for many many years, but just shows dairy goats now. And still another friend had the two time National champion Ayrshire back in the 1950s.
But I once judged dairy cattle at a county fair! For many many years the dairy goats were judged by the dairy cattle judge and they thought it only fair that the cows should be judge by the goat judge. So, I did it.
I must say I'm not a very good judge!

That sounds like so much fun! Sadly no, as I live in the suburbs there is no space for one cow, let alone a whole breeding herd! Maybe I should go to a cattle show sometime to check it out.

I don't, but a lot of my cousins do. They show cattle and chickens. I think its really fun to watch, and be on a farm!
