I've been going to a psychologist for several years and he has helped me. Now he mostly just weeps a lot and I don't know what to do? I'm not too stable myself so this is really messing with my head. It's not a joke question. Please give me some advice. Should I try to help him?

That's not answerable unless you know why he's unhappy. You would have to forget that he's a psychologist and just remember that he's a person. That would involve breaching the professional barrier, and might involve you having to find a new psychologist, might gain you a friend, but also might just have the effect of wrecking the relationship you have with him.

I'd talk to him about it. I'm sure he'd appreciate your thinking about him, and would probably be honest with you about what's best for him.

Under no circumstances should the therapist burden you with his problems...this is unethical and unprofessional. It seems that your roles are reversed, and instead of focusing on your issues and providing you with empathy, your therapist is using YOUR time to cry, and give you sympathy....which is not the same as empathy. He is bluring the lines in your therapeutic relationship, and reversing the roles. That should never, never happen.
Maybe you need a new psychologist. But you should mention to him that his crying is making you uncomfortable, and is taking away from the help that he should be providing you with.
Good luck!!

Ask the psychologist why they're sad and imply that if they can't become psychologically healthy then what chance do they have of helping you with your life.

First of all that's very unprofessional. Do NOT try to help him. He's making you pay him, so you can help him. It doesn't make any sense.

Also, to help others, you must first help yourself. "Two lefts don't make a right."

In order to help him, you have to help yourself first. I once had to rebuild my personality from the ground up and did it with the help of the Buddhism taught by http://www.sgi-usa.org
