With an A-rod less yankees (with a hurting pitching staff), and a dominant Boston, will the Jays make the post season? We have the pitching, we have the hitting as shown in the past 2 seasons. Can we bring them both togeather?

The Jays have the pitching, but the question marks at catcher and shortstop are troubling.

The pitching staff should be good, with Halladay-Burnett a solid 1-2 and McGowan having developed into a front half of the rotation guy. Marcum will do well in the four spot if he keeps up what he did in 2007, and Litsch is decent in the fifth spot. The problems to me are Zaun at catcher and McDonald at short. Zaun is okay defensively, but his offense is not very good and getting worse. They've committed to him through next season, which unfortunately means they won't look to improve at the catcher position. John McDonald is a great fielder, but an OBP under .300 doesn't cut it in the AL East.

The Jays should improve, but my guess is that the Sox and Yankees do what they can to improve, too. If the Yanks win the Santana sweepstakes, then any moves made by the Jays won't matter. Santana, Wang and Hughes along with a great offense will be too much for my beloved Blue Jays.

NO!!! Yanks have one of the best staffs in the league next year and it will only get BETTER since they are so young. The hitting will always be there. Abreu, Giambi, and Mussina's contracts come off the books next year and the year after next WE WIN IT ALL!!! We spend that $$ on Santana and it's GAME OVER!!!

Respect... that's what it's all about. Give it up.

Nope probably not unless they are willing to fork out cash like the yankees and red sox. They would need to stay healthy and could use more bats.

i had the Jays picked for the 2006 season, when they had Liliy, but with the manager fighting people on the mound it became hard to back them
