Where is a good place to get cheap rail tickets to London? (Wanting to go Christmas time!)

Where are you travelling from?

Go to your nearest rail station and ask them whats available.

As a rail worker I get sick of people coming in and saying 'it was on the net for £10' when the best you can offer is £20.
When you ask them why they didn't book it online they say it wouldn't sell it to them.
No surprise, could it be there's none at that price left?

Most Xmas cheap fares are already gone.

During times of peak travel, such as Christmas, there may may be very little in the way of cheap, advanced purchase tickets made available by the train operating companies. I'd recommend that you try to buy your tickets immediately.

If you know the name of the railway company running the trains from where you are to London, go to their website, or simply go to the ticket office at your local station or try the trainline.com. The further you book ahead, the cheaper your ticket will be.
