"Wings of Isis": really pretty, but I can't seem to find a pattern or anything that specifies how to construct them. It seems pretty simple (two big 1/4 or 1/3 circles) with dowels about 1/2 diameter attached from the ends going inwards, and something to attach them at the shoulder or neck to the body.

However, I don't want to just run out and spend all the money making a pair only to find out I've done it wrong and wasted the money! I'd buy a real pair, but the cost for a good pair seems to be $100-$200, and I can't really spring for that.

Tips or links greatly appreciated - if you can get me an actual link to to a pattern or something, I'll totally give you 10 pts!

That's actually a large rectangle of fabric with some pleats ironed in. It's then pinched in the center and attached to the collar, and then you hold out the ends with your hands. There are 4 short dowels sewn across the top inside the hem of the rectangle. You grab onto the end dowels and the wings stand out more straight when you lift your arms. You can find dowels in any craft store or hardware store. I found another picture on the same site that shows how it looks from the back when you let go of it.

I'd pay $85.00 not to have to iron all of those dang pleats.
