Thx for the replies for far!

THough I'm abit confused, some people say it can cause infections.

I ask cos I have a slight itch down there, I know its not an STD cos I havnt had sex for 3 months, its not a major itch, it comes and goes.

Harsh soap can cause infections and I doubt you need anything anti-bacterial. Warm water by itself should do and maybe a mild, sensitive soap if necessary.

I think it's similar to women being told not to douche or use harsh substances down there, causes more problems. Water is good but that area is mostly self-cleaning, after all people did fine before they invented body wash etc.

Try no soap. Use warm water and apply a cream after showering like Man1 Man Oil to keep the skin moisturized. Also, some STIs lay dormant for a period of time, so don't discount the possibility thereof just because it's been a few months since you've been sexually active!

that's smegma and it is not something to rigidity approximately. that's a organic secretion of the human physique. It inhibits the upward thrust of antagonistic micro organism so that's fairly constructive to have some smegma modern. youthful adult men who cant yet retract the foreskin so unquestionably threat giving themselves an infection by making use of manipulating the foreskin too plenty, so which you will properly be at an advantage in basic terms leaving it on my own. ignore regarding the adult men telling you to work out a doctor. they could desire to be circumcised yanks who don't be attentive to what a common penis is like.

You dont really need antibacterial soap - the chemicals can irritate the skin - and any wash that you rinse for 20 seconds removes 99% of germs....(According to the CDC)....
So try something like aveeno baby wash....certainly mild.

Good Luck

Yes! Vick's has a new product that is marketed as a hand sanitizer but it does not have am alcohol base! : ) It is very gentle and can be used in your more sensitive, private areas. ; ) The product is called Early Defense Foaming Hand Sanitizer)

I like to use it to make sure I'm clean. Also, using it after shaving helps to eliminate razor bumps.

Don't clean it to much, better use baby oil and just wipe... you get it too dry you can get painful cracks in the skin there... and I mean Painful!

Ps Ach Drew... just because you were circumcised doesn't mean everyone should be ... for every reference you can quote in favour I can give 3 saying it's it's either pointless (oh ha ha) or a bad idea

It is not a good idea to use anti-bacterial soap there -- or anyplace else except your hands. "Good" bacteria on your skin prevent the growth of fungal infections. The anti-bacterial soap kills the good bacteria, and whammo, you've got a fungus population explosion on your skin. Just use plain water or at most a very mild soap -- anti-bacterial soap should be labeled "pro-fungus soap"!

Just get circumcised!

BioEssays. 2007 Oct 12;29(11):1147-1158

Why circumcision is a biomedical imperative for the 21(st) century.

School of Medical Sciences and Bosch Institute, Building F13, The
University of Sydney, Sydney, New South Wales 2006, Australia.

Circumcision of males represents a surgical "vaccine" against a wide
variety of infections, adverse medical conditions and potentially
fatal diseases over their lifetime, and also protects their sexual
partners. In experienced hands, this common, inexpensive procedure is
very safe, can be pain-free and can be performed at any age. The
benefits vastly outweigh risks. The enormous public health benefits
include protection from urinary tract infections, sexually transmitted
HIV, HPV, syphilis and chancroid, penile and prostate cancer,
phimosis, thrush, and inflammatory dermatoses. In women circumcision
of the male partner provides substantial protection from cervical
cancer and chlamydia. Circumcision has socio-sexual benefits and
reduces sexual problems with age. It has no adverse effect on penile
sensitivity, function, or sensation during sexual arousal. Most women
prefer the circumcised penis for appearance, hygiene and sex. Given
the convincing epidemiological evidence and biological support,
routine circumcision should be highly recommended by all health
professionals.
