I know this is going to probably sound stupid to some people...but is it still considered unprotected sex if you use the pull out method? He pulled out before he finished but it was probably 20 to 30 minutes before he did. Both of us are clean from anything(at least I trusted him when he said he is)...but I'm just wondering what the chances are I could have gotten pregnant. Him and I had never been together before. I just recently got divorced but my husband was the last man I had been with and I went off the pill back in February. He says that it's not as easy as I think to get pregnant. What do you guys think? Next time we will definitely use protection.

Hun, U fell for the old "I'm clean and there's no way u can get preggers LIE".

There are thousands of women out there now who fell for the same lie and are now preggers or have some sort of STD.

You should know that just because someone looks clean & says they are clean is no guarantee that they are. ... And yes, you can get pregnant that way.

...If I were you I'd go right to the OBGYN and get preg & STD test.

...NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!!! If you value your life and well-being. That guy could have had HIV/AIDS and never even known it. ...And if he had to stupidity and audacity to have unprotected sex once, and yes IT WAS UNPROTECTED SEX, then I can almost guarantee you that he has done this before. DON'T BE ANOTHER STATISTIC. USE YOUR HEAD FROM NOW ON!!!

I was going to start this answer with the term "I don't mean to scare you", but apparently you need some sense scared into you. Anyone who tells you any different is NOT concerned about you at all!!!

Ok well here's the dime analysis:

1. If you are in the region of the month where you can get pregnant then it is possible. Sperm can even last in your body for up to 3 days after the ejaculation so conception can occur even a day later than when intercourse occurred.

2. There had to have been enough sperm to penetrate the egg and fertilize it. It takes many sperm to penetrate the egg's outer area but only 1 sperm to fertilize it.

3. Even if the man does not ejaculate, there can still be sperm in his pre-ejaculate. The concentration is much lower but women have reported becoming pregnant from this very situation.

4. Assuming you are both able to conceive, it is possible for him to get your pregnant as described above.

5. Yes it is considered to be unprotected sex even if he does not ejaculate inside of you. You need to take steps to protect yourself these days and it is not at all unreasonable to get both parties tested before engaging in any sexual behavior. Even after that you must have some sort of trust to ensure that one member is not having sex with multiple partners who may have some type of disease.

6. If you use the pill and he uses a latex condom by a reputable manufacturer you should be fine. If you are a real worrier you can think about using spermicide lubricant but just make sure that it is compatible with the condom material first.

Best Regards

It is possible to get pregnant with the pull out method for sure.
The thing is that is it likely. I am not so sure.
At this point, it would depend on a test when the baby was actually born to be sure.
Either way, I would for sure use protection from now on. Not just because of pregnancy, but because people do not always tell the truth about their health situations.

It's almost unbelievable to think that there are still people in society that believe that pulling out will protect you from STD's or from getting pregnant.

While he is still inside you, the whole time, there are little sperms that are swimming. When he starts to ejaculate, those little buggers are swimming like hell for the finish line. Even if 10 little ones get out of him before he pulls out, that's 10 chances that you could get pregnant.

Use a condom, that is why it is called "protection". I have never heard of "pulling out" as protection.

Stop and meditate for a minute on what your life is going to be like if you have a child in 9 months. That's 18 years of your future you have to contemplate.

Society doesn't need another unwanted child. Please, use protection next time.

You could be pregnant, it's all up to God and when you ovulate. You usually ovulate in the weeks following your period. If your in that time of the month and your really worried about it go and get a blood test done at your hospital. And yeah, it IS still unprotected sex! You can't trust when a guy says he doesn't have anything. Males can have HPV and not even know it, they cant even be tested for it. You need to go get a pap smear done now just to make sure because hpv can go undetected for a long time because there are no symptoms. Just to be safe go to the doctor because leaving hpv alone causes cancer cells on your cervix. Look it up, better be safe than sorry. Use protection girl! ALWAYS unless your trying for a baby of course ;-)

If your not quite sure on how to contract a social disease or get pregnant, then why are you have any sort of sex?

Unprotected sex does not apply to pregnancy or STD (sexually transmitted diseases), it applies to BOTH. You should not trust anyone you are going to have sex with unless you both go and are tested for STDs. Even if you are just going to have casual sex or do the "friends with benefits" thing. I personally know someone who became pregnant with twins while on the pill. You can become pregnant at anytime if he has not had a vasectomy. NO method is FOOL PROOF except of abstaining from sex.

Do yourself a huge favor and spend sometime on the Internet (it'll only take you a half an hour) to learn about prevention from pregnancy and STDs.

You're right, this does sound stupid. Of course it's unprotected sex. And how do you know for sure he's clean? There are all sorts of nasty little STDs you can carry and spread without being symptomatic - Herpes being a good example. As for pregnancy - yes, you can most definitely get pregnant using this method. Small amounts of sperm laden semen are excreted well before ejaculation. Small amounts is all it takes. Better get yourself checked for STDs. And take a pregnancy test. Maybe you got lucky and dodged the bullet, but maybe not.

Yes
The method is largely ineffective in the prevention of STDs, like HIV, since pre-ejaculate may carry viral particles or bacteria which may infect the partner if this fluid comes in contact with mucous membranes. However, a reduction in the volume of bodily fluids exchanged during intercourse may reduce the likelihood of disease transmission due to the smaller number of pathogens present

It all depends on how lucky you are.. there is a chance you could get pregnant due to pre-***.
My husband and I used the pullout method for 6 years before I got pregnant with our daughter ...but that doesn't mean you will be that lucky..
definitely use protection next time.
Good luck.

The fact that you've been married leads me to believe that you are old enough to know better. Of course you are having unprotected sex. Of course there is a chance you can get pregnant. Of course you can contract an STD. Why on earth would you go off the pill when you are just now entering the singles scene? Why on earth would you trust someone you have never been with when they tell you they're clean?

You need to be smarter. A lot smarter.
