My son recently bought a game from Blockbusters for his Xbox 360. The game was supposedly new but when he opened it there were scratches on the game.
I've taken it back to the shop for him twice, but both times Ive been told that they can't issue a refund without the manager present & both times he/she hasn't been there.
Is this right or can I demand a refund there & then so to speak.

Thanks

they need a manager, be patient. And don't be like those crazy demanding customers, cause it will only delay the resolution of the problem.

Yes, the manager probably has to be there for you to get a refund. Employees don't have much say in cases like this.

First, ask when the manager will be back in the store. Even if you cannot be present at that time, CALL and ask to speak to him/her when you know they are working. For the most part, a manager will be reasonable if you are firm but polite.

If they can't issue a refund with the manager present, demanding they do so won't get you anywhere. Simply ask the employee when the manager is scheduled to work. If they say he doesn't have set hours, give your name and telephone number to the employee and ask that the manager call you right away. You'll have better luck if you are kind and rational.

Most of the above answers are right, ask for a definate time the manager will be working but would you be happy with an exchange for a brand new copy of the same game, most employees would have the authority for that. Hope this helps.

i would go ther demand that they call the manager right there with you present talk to the manager and tell him you are displeased and will take your business elsewhere and tell your friends family and everyone else you know about it and this should put the manager into defensive mode and cause no business wants to lose business and the more people you tell the longer the chain will go, customer is always right #1

They're not really refusing a refund from you..its just that they need the manager there...They're may be some paperwork that has to be done with it that only a manager can do...You might wanna try asking them when the manager will be in and meeting him/her there

Hi

You can demand a refund - I would ask them to confirm when the manager will be there. Get his name and number and call him yourself.

If not satisfied with their action - go to Trading Standards
