it depends on your oven, if the bird is completely thawed, the temp you will cook it and if you are going to stuff it or not. most experts say you should cook a turkey 1 hour for every pound and a half the bird is. however i have found that when i cook a 12 pound turkey, thawed, at 350 by its self that it is done in 5 to 6 hours.

It depends on it you are going to stuff the turkey.
Unstuffed you need to cook it the turkey about 15 - 20 min per pound 7 1/2 to 9 1/2 hours with the temp at 325 degrees

Stuffed you need to cook the turkey 20 - 25 min per pound
9 1/2 to 12 hours with the temp at 325 degrees

You will also have to bast the turkey about once every 30 - 40 min to help keep it moist.
You can also put butter under the skin of the turkey breast too help keep it moist.

Make sure that you have a large enough pan and that the pan can easily support that much weight. If the pan cannot support the weight you will not be able to move the bird from the oven to the table.
Good luck

Bless your heart, where on earth did you find a 30 pound turkey? Anyway, 15 to 20 minutes per pound. Since this bird is so big, I wouldn't stuff it. Make a side pan of stuffing and you can cook it on the side. I would put a quartered apple in the cavity to help keep the turkey moist. Use two if the cavity is large. I would cook it at 350 and you'll need to keep basting it to keep it from drying out. You'll have to be very careful getting it to the table. You'll need a strong pan to do this. Let the turkey rest a least 20 minutes before you carve it. Happy Thanksgiving and good luck.

Has this bird been gutted....if it is 29 lbs before the guts have come out then who knows.....

If it has been gutted and cleaned out and is still 29 lbs.....then they say 25-30 min/lb so about 12-15 hrs.
