We are a country that wants everything now. The fact that the war is taking a while bothers people. We are also a nation that takes no personal responsibility, so who better to blame than the president, after all, it's popular, so go sheeple go! Good question by the way.

PS - katydid, he DOES listen to the troops, they are saying the surge is working by the way, sorry that seems to make some upset that we are doing a good job.

Thank you! Great item for YA...it really bugs me the amount of backlash that Bush has received for various things, especially for following through on this war. Listen people, let's go back in time a few years ago to September 11, 2001...remember the devastation? Remeber the loss of life? Remember the tears? Remember the fright? Remember the anger? Remember the unity? Remember our new president speaking to the Nation with hurt and tears in his eyes? I sure do. I also remember him telling the Nation in a speech, that this was not going to be easy, this was not going to be fast, and more innocent lives would be lost, but we are fighting for our country and our freedoms. Everyone cheered him on to get that Bastard Bin Laden and everyone was gung ho for the first year or two...now what? Now everyone is upset that we are still at war and are taking it out on the President. He warned us and we all know it needed to be done. Some people need to get a grip on reality and realize that we can't solve problems in the same time span of a television movie...and that it's not the President's fault.

Cecil- enlighten me as to why Ronald Reagan is one of the worst presidents of all time? Are you kidding me? He's one of the GREATEST presidents of all time. Donkey. Andrew Johnson or James Buchanan And the people saying "Bush" are total idiots. Just stop. EDIT: Okay, when you have presidents like Milard Filmore, Fanklin Pierce, Andrew Johnson, James Buchanan, Herbert Hoover, Ulysses S. Grant and Warren G. Harding, all of whom accomplished absolutely nothing during their presidency, and then say Reagan is one of the worst ever? Reagan got hyperinflation under control and laid the groundwork for economic growth. Not only that, his military build up and arms race helped accelerate the demise of the Soviet Union and win the Cold War. To refer to him as one of the 4 worst presidents ever is pretty irrational, ignorant and borderline stupid.

He's been a disaster as a businessman - run many into the ground. Marge Schott was a racist, pennypinching money grubbing owner of a baseball team - ownership means nothing. A fighter pilot? The man was AWOL, refused to take a physical possibly because of drug use, only got in because of his family's pull. Hey, I know lots of folks with MBAs. It means squat.

He's still incompetent no matter what spin you try to put on him.

W is a pale imitation of his father, and anything positive W has "accomplished" has been the result of having strings pulled for him.

Owning a successful business (that is more or less given to you, or after having been hooked up with Daddy's rich friends) is not the same as BUILDING a successful business.

Does avoiding the draft in Vietnam (despite being in favor of the war), and then going AWOL from the Texas Air National Guard (after having Daddy pull strings to get you in there in the first place) really count as being a fighter pilot?

He went to Andover because his dad did. He went to Yale because his Dad did - he never would have got in on his own. And as for his MBA I once read an article written by one of his MBA professors who said he was a dim bulb who didn't seem very interested in actually learning anything, and who generally resorted to snarky retorts rather than informed arguements.

If W had been born into a different family he'd be bagging groceries at a Piggly Wiggly right now, and our country would be better off.

If you don't consider George W. Bush "ignorant" of the terrorists' plans for attacking the WTC and Pentagon on Sept 11, 2001, then you must believe Bush not only knew about the attacks, but allowed them to take place. Being "ignorant" is the LEAST of Bush's worries.
I have never referred to the President of the US as stupid or retarded. Incompetently negligent in his duties his first nine months in office (half of which was spent on vacation in Texas), yes, but not the other two. He may indeed BE a retard in its orgiinal meaning ("to retard- verb - to limit, or hold back, something. Example- He retarded the spark and the mower started on the first pull"), but I do not believe the man to be "retarded". DANGEROUSLY simpleminded and willing to take spectacularly bad advice form anyone who says they gree with his whacked out Foreign Policy, ok.
And he IS unqualified. A couple of corrupt, scandal-ridden terms as governor of Texas should not put you on the fast track to the Oval Office. At least senators work IN Washington, DC with each other: Bush had to be shown where the White House was, after the Supreme Court chose him to be our President.

1. None (as in NOT ONE) of Bush's businesses were successful. In fact, his tenure at Harkin not only bankrupted the company, but started a Securities and Exchange Comission Investigation into his selling off $848,000 worth of stock 3 weeks before a negative earnings report was published, causing Harkin stock to plunge in value. Daddy Bush (the President at the time) quashed the investigation.
2. Bush did not own the Rangers; he was part of a limited partnership who owned the team, and he unloaded his share within a year.
3. Bush never finished his military obligation to the satisfaction of the Texas Air National Guard. He flew cargo transports, not "fighter"s, and tried to get transferred to an Alabama ANG unit which didn't use the only type of aircraft he was trained to fly. Again, Poppa Bush got him INTO the Texas ANG to avoid duty in Nam, and then got him out when George refused his flight physical and went AWOL in a time of war (otherwise known as DESERTION).
4. Being an MBA graduate or candidate is not that great a shakes anymore. And Mr Bush's GPA is not something to be too proud of either. Did you know the President's tested IQ score is CLASSIFIED INFORMATION? If he was such a genius, why wouldn't they publish such scores to prove his intellectual prowess? Again, Daddy got him INTO school and what do you want to bet his Secret Service agents were doing his homework?

As far as the two Presidential terms thing goes, he didn't WIN the first election. If DADDY'S Supreme Court knew how to COUNT VOTES, Bush would have been down there in Florida, working at a Burger King his brother owns, instead of reading My Pet Goat when he failed in his Oath of Office almost 3,000 times on Sept 11, 2001.

on the other side of this token.. I HAVE worked with the mentally and socially challenged for about 6 years now... and went to college for psychology... and can tell you straight up... the boy ain't right... now I'm not saying he's stupid or retarded... but it doesn't take a genius with a lot of experience to see that bad decisions have been made. I'm sure you have a favorite sports team.. and you probably cuss the coach up and down when he makes an obvious bad call... and you can easily tell it's a bad call from where you are sitting can't you? and there is absolutely no doubt you aren't right... but you've never been the coach of a pro-team have you?

The nation ran better 8 years ago than it has for the past 7... simple truth.

He ran those businesses into the ground and traded Sammy Sosa.

His success has been based on the family name, having a dad as VP and then president.

EDIT: Amen Bert. Well said.
