I've found three website which I hope will be of use to you. It's not easy dealing with the death of a pet. I know, as my family have also lost pet cats in the past. -It was hard enough for us and we're all adult. As I said before, I hope the websites below will be of some help. All the best.

I lost my cat last christmas day which was heart breaking for all the family, even me as i wasnt his biggest fan but the hardest thing was having to tell my 8 year old brother.

We just told him straight that the cat took a turn for a worse and he was in alot of pain and wouldn't been fair for him so he went into along deep sleep and is now happy in kitty heaven.

Honesty to a point is best.

Also the hard part was we nearly lost the dog the week before due to a nasty attack.

Just cuddle them and tell them that the cat is happy in kitty heaven playing with their new friends

First of all I am very sorry for your loss. No I do not think that there is such a site but I could be wrong. However try telling your daughter that everything has to die and that the cat is watching over her from cat heaven( if she believes in Heaven) and would not like to see her sad.

Awww, I am so sorry. I know losing a pet is very hard.
but yes, there is a site called rainbows bridge where you can make a memorial for the lost pet, and browse through other peoples memorials they have made for their pets. The home page has a beautiful poem that both eases and melts the heart. It really is a beautiful site. http://www.rainbowsbridge.com/ Good luck with everything, and please accept my sympathy.

try the link below. Get the kids involved in making an online memorial for their pet, it will help the whole process. I have 2 of mine on there.

I am so sorry. Having been there I know how it hurts. Petloss.com may help you express how you feel.

You might also like to try your local rescue forum. I came across one last year when I appealed on my local Freecycle group for a stairgate for my terminally ill German Shepherd who was at risk of falling if he went upstairs. I followed the link at the bottom of their email and discovered the most wonderful group of people.

I now assist the rescue in finding homes and transport for dogs at risk. It's my way of remembering Shane, my German Shepherd, and Monty, his Staffs Cross friend whom I lost earlier this year. I have posted their passing on the forum, had the kindest of responses to Shane's passing, and got invaluable support and advice when Monty was ill too. I also posted the story of how I found Shane and how I tried to come to terms with his illness and passing - it helped. I had so very many messages of kindness and support from the other forum members it brought me to tears, and I now count many of these people as friends.

I now am fostering a greyhound through contacts of the rescue owners - this and finding homes and transport for dogs at risk are my way of remembering and saying thank you for my two lost friends. In time maybe you might find room in your home and strength in your heart to do something similar in memory of your lost cat. Your new friend, like my foster dog and my GSD pup, will never replace your lost friend, but will help ease the pain.

Take it easy on yourselves, thinking of you.

Milly
