I just thought it would be interesting to see what position you used when you conceived and if the baby ended up being a boy or a girl.

I'm 7 weeks and 6 days w/ baby #1 and we were in the missionary position, I obviously don't know what the baby is yet.

Also how accurate is the chinese calendar at predicting the sex? Did it work for you? And has anyone found one that goes younger than 18, i'm only 17, plz no rude comments.

Thanks for sharing and feel free to add anything else that you find interesting!

when we conceived our daughter,we had been trying the spoons position for deeper penetration.on our son,i think he arrived thanks to the missionary (but don't quote me on that!). both babies were very much wanted and we had tried unsuccessfully for nearly 3 years to conceive our daughter. i credit the conception equally to the fact that at that stage,we had virtually resigned ourselves to not having kids at all, we stopped being so regimented about temperatures and ovulation dates and went out and got roaring drunk!!!!! ( new years eve,2003)the obvious then happened when we got home and BOOM!there i was pregnant!!!( age may have been against me,had daughter at 31,son at 34).as for the chinese calendar,it was wrong for my daughter so i didnt try it for my son!! sorry ,that probably doesnt help you at all! come to think of it,i was drunk conceiving my son too.not ideal but hey,i've now got 2 beautiful kids(3 and 5 months)so apparently no harm done. i hope!

It is really impossible for me to say what sex position we were using when we conceived each of our 4 children. The first 3 were planned pregnancies and we simply had sex regularly. Typically we don't stay in one position the entire time. Sperm can live inside a woman for 3-7 days. After ovulation, the egg is viable for 24-48 hours. So, it is hard to say the exact day of conception. Even if you only have sex once, you can not accurately say that conception took place on the day you had sex, even if you know the day you ovulated. Our 4th baby was conceived totally unexpectedly. Our older kids were 18, 15, and 12 when she was born and I had been taking the Pill for 11 years without fail. Our kids are a girl, boy, girl, girl. I've never had any experience with a Chinese Calendar for predicting a baby's sex. Most of those predicting gimmicks aren't that accurate. They may be right some of the time since with a baby you only have 2 choices, so any prediction method is going to be right 50% of the time anyway.

I know several people that the chinese calender was accurate for but I am sure it is not 100%.

Position has nothing to do with conceiving a boy or a girl. They have done research that concludes that boy sperm swim faster but live less than female sperm. So ideally if you know when you ovulate you should have sex really close to ovulation if you want a boy and a couple days before ovulation if you want a girl. This is because the theory states that if you have sex really close to ovulation the boy sperm will outswim the slower girl sperm and reach the egg first and if you have sex a few days before ovulation the boy sperm will swim faster but won't live long enough to wait for the egg.
They have proven that it works but there are many factors that could alter this like your husbands make up of boy sperm to girl sperm ratio and the fact that it is hard to pinpoint ovulation.

The Chinese calendar is fun, but no it's not accurate. People may say it was accurate for them, but it's simply a coincidence given they have a 50% chance of being right. Sexual position has no bearing on it either. What you need to look at is how many brothers your partner has, how many uncles on the dad's side, how many great uncles on the dad's side, etc.....Even that's not entirely accurate, but since his sperm determine the sex of your baby, it will give you some idea. I had sex in the cowgirl position when I got pregnant...I'm 13 weeks so obviously I don't know what mine is either. The Chinese calendar says it's a girl. My husband only has brothers, his dad only has brothers, and his grandpa has more brothers than sisters, so that's leaning towards me having a boy. I really want a girl though!! Good luck to you!!

As far as the positions you use that really has nothing to do with it...male sperm don't live as long as girl sperm but they travel faster. So if you have sex closer to your ovulation date your odds of it being a boy are higher because they go faster and don't have to live as long. Yes the chinese calender was right for me but that's mostly just for fun too. From the day I found out I was pregnant I KNEW I was having a boy. I always said he and him and baby boy. All the little girl things just didn't look cute to me and thats how I knew I was having a boy. When I went in for my 20 week ultrasound I said ok Carter let's show everyone you really are a boy...everyone kept saying because I had morning sickness REALLY BAD (I lost over 20 pounds) that I was having a girl and all the silly tests online all were 90% girl so my little wives tales symptoms were all backwards...but anyways at my ultrasound he spread his legs and let it all hang out!! It's a long wait to find out for sure but the first 4/5 months goes by really fast compared to the last four! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, congrats on the baby and I wish you a safe and healthy delivery!!

It really has nothing to do with position. The calender was wrong for two of my kids. They say it has to do a lot with the PH of your vagina. If you want to have a girl, you should be more acidic, and for a boy, more basic. Take cranberry supplements for a girl. My friend had two girls and wanted a boy so she douched with baking soda, and had a boy!

But, remember, it always is 50/50!
