They are both. Their religious fundamentalism makes them political ultra-conservatives of their own society. A peculiar set of circumstances, however, has made them political rivals of the global status quo currently dominated largely by religious fundamentalists in the United States which is what qualifies them as leftists in that sense. But keep in mind that once these territorial issues are settled you may be surprised at how well these ideological soulmates get along.

Al-qaeda and the Republican party have much in common in regards to fundamentalism. The Republicans and al-qaeda are fixated on one another like bees and are to honey. The source of the fundamentalism of al-qaeda comes from the koran while the bible is the source of the republican's idiocracy. Both books contain mistruths and legends that confound the people studying them to this day.

Are Alqaeda members ultra leftist secular atheist like most Democrats or religious fundamentalist ultra conservatives like most Republicans.
