Okay, umm, recently i've been taking my iPod everywhere all the time, but the other day, i didn't take my purse with me cuz we were just going to the store real quick, so i put it in my back pocket....the point is...i ended up sitting on it...and crazking the screen. I can't see any light, even when it's on. I can still hear music, but i can only get to it, because i can do it with my eyes closed. There's only a black blob on the screen. Sometimes when i press a certain button or turn it on, the light goes on for a second, but that's about it. I wanna know if there's a way to fix it your self or if i can find a place around here that will fix it. I live in Clermont, Fl...Please & Thank You

No you cannot and even if you found someone that could it probably would cost you more than a new one. So I would just buy a new one and get the music I bought off Itunes and put it back on my new one.

You can't repair a broken LCD screen, but you can replace it.

There are many places you can find online that will do it for you (for ~$50-75) but you will have to ship it to them.

The other option is to buy a replacement LCD screen (either as the part alone or part of a dead iPod whose screen you remove to use for your own) and install it yourself.

It isn't incredibly difficult, but it does require disassembling your iPod (which will void your warranty). If it is still covered by your warranty send it in to Apple to get it repaired, but if not then this may be your best option.

This page offers both step by step, and video, instructions on how to replace an iPod LCD screen: http://ipodhowtovideo.com/video/videolcdreplacement.html

Not likely. If you talk to the manufacturer, or a ipod repair place, they may be able to replace it.I would start with talking ot the manufacturer of your ipod. Also if you have warranty or insurance it might help.

The screens are very much a detailed part of the machine and do tend to be hard to replace. So it mostly depends on the type of ipod etc.

Give a repair shop a try. they might be able to help.

I guess that taught you a lesson not to take your iPod wherever you go.

Maybe try taking it to your closest Apple store.

I bought mine at an Apple store, and if I crack mine (Which I hopefully don't want to), I'll have to fly the poor thing all the way to Las Vegas for it to get it fixed, but anyways, that's not the point.

Sorry, you can't fix it. Buy a new one, there's new ones that just came out, and they're pretty cheap now.

Hmm- I suggest going to the nearest Apple store and asking them, but considering the back-light is broken, you most likely will have to purchase a new one. There are some cheap large cap. ones out there. my sister just got a 90gb for 80$ on some sale.

You have to send it into the store to have it fixed. they can replace the screen for like $60. My friend broke hers and when they fixed it the backlight didn't work afterwards. I think it's better just to get a new one. Sorry.

The price it would take to repair it, you might as well get a new one.
See if your warranty can help you. If not, buy a new one and transfer all your songs and videos over. You can also save the old one and use it for parts.

if its <1 yr old, its still under warranty, apple will send you a replacement for ~$50 depending on the model. higher for older models.

if its older than 13 months, congratulations, its lived longer than the average ipod, and therefore not worth fixing.

You can go to your nearest apple store and they'll fix it for you for free only if its under its warrenty still. If it isn't, then it'll cost you. I'm not sure how much though.
