Next time pull over on the side of the road get out and tell him he can drive since he is so much better than you are.
Dramatic, yes but hopefully he will see how much it bothers you and stop.
The other idea is to insist that you both take separate cars because you can't handle his back seat driving.

Everytime he annoys you while driving, pull over (dont say youre pulling over, just do it) and tell him to get out and walk. And mean it. He is bullying you and you need to push back harder or he wont back off. Do it even if there are other people in the car. If he refuses to get out then just sit there til he either gets out or gets the message to shut up. If he doesnt get out and he does it again, pull over again. Do this every single time he bothers you. Dont give up or back down or you will end up right back where it is now with him driving you crazy. And dont let him insist on driving either.

I do the same thing when my husband is driving and he's a better driver than I am.
I think it's just what some people do when they're in the car with someone else driving.
Some people have a hard time letting other people have control.....even in the car.

Jasons wife replying: You think you have it bad! My husband doesnt even drive and constantly criticises me. My advice to you is go for a nice long drive into the country, right in the middle of nowhere and leave the arrogant w*nker there!

Oo I just hate that. I would kindly tell him to let you drive or else he might cause an accident or ask him if he'd prefer to drive. My husband is the same and it drives me crazy too. I try to ignore him or not to take his comments to the heart. I just smile and nod.

I think all men do this. My husband constantly nags me about something when I'm driving, yet he drives looking out his window! I'm like, hey, you're running off of the road, stop looking out your window, and he gets mad at me and says hey, I'm the one driving! Go figure.
Do it to him. Then say, this is what you do to me all the time. Maybe, eventually, he will get the picture.

Pull over every time he does it.
Either get out and tell him to drive if he's so good at it from the passenger seat... or tell him you're not moving until he's ready to quit telling you how to do it.

tell him you're the driver right now. tell him to respect you as you respect him when he's driving. also warn him that the next time he complains, you'll pull over and have him drive. and be firm to your rule.
