On Firefox it is F11, probably the same for IE. Too lazy to check but you can. click on View in the IE toolbar and see what it says.

...or click the little box between the underscore and the X at the top right...but be careful, like I forgot, to either memorize the key for minimizing again, or have that underscore/pair of boxes/X available, so's you can restore the window back down. I pushed my maximized window off the edge of the screen and it took some mighty effort to get it shrunk back down.
