As an American, I agree. Our government has been sticking their noses in other countries affairs for way to long, and it's starting to backfire. We all knew it would happen sooner or later, but since the average citizen is not a government official, there is not much we can do.
I can't say that I am personnaly fearfull of a another terrorist attack. I live in a big city, but not one of the ones that would be most likely targeted. There's always a slight possibility though. I would say that most people really don't fear another attack, but believe that it is in the realm of possibility.
As for the oil.......I keep noticing that anyone living outside of the U.S. likes to believe that we are in Iraq for the oil. If that were true, I bet we would be paying alot less when we fill our gas tanks. Our oil prices have skyrocketed, and it's beginning to get out of control....and the prices have gone up most since we've been at war with Iraq. Maybe Bush had big plans for the oil upon invading, but if he did, that plan has also backfired on him.
Have a good one,
-Cheers

First of all, it's not all about the oil. Less than 30% of US oil comes from the Middle East. If it were all about the oil the price of gasoline wouldn't have increased 40% since the outset of the war. The US involvement in Iraq is political first and foremost.
Secondly, the US has a deep history of involving itself in the affairs of others. Some of the time it's been a bad move, other times it has been a benefit for the world at large. That is because what goes on in other areas of the world has a direct impact on the US in the same way domestic US events impact the rest of the world.
The US meddled in Europe late teens and in the early 40s. That meddling a positive international impact I think. It also meddled in Latin and South America in the 70s and 80s with mixed results. Its activities in Afghanistan in the 80s didn't work out so well. So, there's a whole spectrum of possibilities and motives. Meddling in the business of others isn't always a bad thing like Iraq.

Getting down to basics, never mind the actual politics. American people generally come over with a really bad attitude, loud mouthed and want a say in everything. I know like saying the Scots are mean or the English are lager louts only refers to a minority but that's the minority that's recognised by the world and unfortunately it's the same with Americans. I don't for one second think this refers to most Americans but afraid that how the world sees them generally and your phrase 'sticking their noses into other countries affairs' is exactly the view of many people.

a minimum of Bush can declare we went into Afghanistan because of 9/11, we haven't any reason to be utilising pressure hostile to Libya. Libya has *not in any respect* been accused of attacking the U. S. via terrorism or the different skill, they are no threat to our nationwide safe practices. that is about oil, we may be able to finally see the shown reality that Obama isn't any diverse than Bush. at the same time as Saudi Arabia and Bahrain kill unarmed civilians, we are saying no longer something and look any opposite direction.

You make it sound like President Bush was the 1st president to get involved with international affairs.
Did you forget about the Democrat president Lyndon Johnson who put the USA into Vietnam? WW 1, WW 2? Persian gulf? Cuban Missle Crisis? El Salvador?
There have been a lot of wars in history and only 2 fought on US soil: Civil War, and American Revolution. So all wars involving the USA have been on foreign soil.

Obviously for their own ends.
Resources, Land, Power.
If there was nothing to gain for them they wouldnt bother. I suppose u could say they are having the American Empire as the British had their Empire.
Thoughout history different peoples have had power.
Power, Land, Resources equates to money, money money.
If its not them it would be somebody else i.e. China, Russia, India?
Such is life.

American interests are threatened worldwide by Islamic extremist group of Al-Quida and the war in Iraq is conveniently made out battlefield where they come voluntarily to fight and die!
Fear is more danger than the death itself and that too a nation of supreme military power need not have to fear for such religious violent extremist groups and we need to eliminate these barbaric bandits lock, stock, barrel, worldwide!
However, there must necessarily be prudence in measures to counter the international terrorism in such a manner where the losses must be minimum and should not escalate as the way it is pulling the nation down in its war in Iraq!

You are SO RIGHT. I agree completely.
I am so much like you and I have been programed too by the liberal news media on CNN, MSNBC and public channels that will say anything for money, even propaganda. I also learned from my favorite stars in Hollywood how to talk bad about our President and undermine and make fun of his administration's efforts, just the way the enemy wants me to. I'll even protest our soldiers and our military if my favorite band suggests the idea to me. And for my ego's sake, I'll say I am a free thinker and freedom lover. And I will taunt and blame anyone who is not in agreement with you and me and twist what they say to prove they are wrong and I am right to further beat my chest. Ahhhhhhhhhh. Then I will saturate you with inaccurate facts and useless conspiracy theories of what I learned on liberal blogs and Union backed (democratic) newspapers. I will take whatever I see on the comedy news channel as truth for I too am gullible and feel special repeating it. Because we are so short sighted, I'm betting you only read the first line of my answer.

It's called Moral Idealism. Basically, we try to influence other countries with our ideals and we use money to persuade them. The war isn't all about the oil, although that has a lot to do with it. Unfortunately, terrorism is a real threat. 9/11 won't be the end. Not all of us here in Ameriva likes what our politicans do, give us a break - please!! We are nice people!!

Because, in international affairs, their business ultimalely becomes our business. We are all too connected anymore to think that what goes on in another country doesn't effect us, and is thus our business.
