Ok Dario, let's assume you mean $8.00 rather than just 8.00 with no currency specified.
Since there are 100 cents to each dollar, your partial dollar requires another 100-80 = 20 cents to be whole. This would leave you with $7.00. As you would then need 8-7 = 1 more dollar, i.e. 1x100 = 100 further cents, this would make a total of 20+100 = 120 cents added to $6.80 to make $8.00.
If you are looking at 8.00 of anything else, you'd need to convert to Dollars, then subtract $6.80 to find the required number of additional dollars, then multiply by 100 to find the requisite number of cents.
I hope this helps, but please do feel free to drop me a line if you'd like to go over this or any aspect of figure-work further.

think of it in pennies. There are 100 pennies in a dollar. If you want 8.00 that is the same as 800 pennies. 800 - 680 equals 120 pennies. Meaning you need 120 cents or $1.20.

OK
If 100 cents make up a dollar, then you would be 20 cents to make the 6.80 to 7.00 and 100 more to make the 7.00 to 8.00
SO .... 120 cents.
Hope that helps

It's a trick question! He didn't put the dollar sign in the 8.00, this could be any form of currency, if the 8 was for the Pound anyway, you'd add about 9.20 =)

Primo, 8 what, dollars??
Secundo, assume it is dollars, put them in cents, it will give you 680c and 800c
To know how many cents you need, just subtract 800c by 680c and it will give you the answer, i.e: 120 cents ($1.20)
