Of course they can....anyone who you owe $ to can take you to court. It's not like you didn't know you had a bill there! Go pay it! They don't HAVE to send you a bill....that is a courtesy....

Not enough info here. Do they still have the car? If they do, then no, but beware, here in Pa. after 30 days a garage can file a claim for the title of your car to pay the bill. If you have the car, then yes, for theft of services. You will then have to pay court costs on top of the bill.

Yes - they can confiscate your car b/c they have a "mechanic's lien" on it for work done on your car.
Like doctors and lawyers they do not guarantee results.
You may wind up paying for shoddy work.
Fair is Fair - if they fixed your car you must pay, it's a matter of personal integrity, which some businesses don't practice.
But not all and not everybody.
Contractors can confiscate your house if you refuse to pay for materials and labor used on your house. (if you signed a "Michanic's lien" when you negotiated the contract).
Fair is Fair - be square.

Sure. When you hire a garage to perform work they are not required to bill you. Normally they also hold your car until you pay.

when they do work on your car, most states have a mechanics lien law. Meaning, theyautomatically have a lien against your car for the amount of work done.
If you signed anything giving them permission, you are screwed.
If not and the car is not worth the bill, forget about it.

Yes, they could. Even though it may seem like they're too disorganized to get around to it, you shouldn't push your luck. If I were you I'd pay the bill.

what type of garage?
parking or repair?
either one can take you to court.
If it's the repair shop, they can have a lien put on your car.or even sell it at action for cost of repair.

Just go ahead and pay before they get a chance to. Of course, that's assuming that you are not disputing any of the charges.
