Sometimes directness and honesty can be mistaken as cold and bitterness.
Words are terribly inexact symbols that can only transmit the shell of what is meant. The receiver may or may not have the same references to translate.
It is probably best to look past how you translate and look for the meaning inside.

because it doesnt matter if your heart is cold...your skin can still be warm......thats how no one knows from looking at someone that they have a cold heart
