(r^2 -5r +6) / (r^2 -4)
[(r-3)(r-2)]/[(r+2)(r-2)]
(r-3)/(r+2)

The answer is r-3/r+2

= (r-3)(r-2)/[(r-2)(r+2)]
= (r-3)/(r+2) since the (r-2) terms cancel out.
