That is a good idea but before anything becomes general rule, both the concerned parties should talk about things and agree. A lot of times, its better for the man to stay home and take care of the children as he might have more patient and makes less money out there....

Both must decide, however it is true, the couple had the children the couple must come up with a plan to care for them and not leave them to school and private care 100%.

Good question by the way.

I, for one, would love to be KEPT at home. If I could find a man who made enough money to support us...I would GLADLY stay at home and raise my children. They would behave better, learn more and appreciate the concept of family. We would have a sit-down dinner every night, I would be able to be involved in their day-to-day life and the evenings wouldn't be a mad rush to get the kids to bed so I could get something done.
All little girls want to be a mommy & a housewife at some point when they are growing up...the problem is, for most of us, it isn't an option any longer. 1 income doesn't cut it for us "middle class" folks.

What cave did you crawl out of? No women should be able to have lives also, have friends and jobs outside the home. Now if both of you agree for her to be a SAHM, then fine, but that whole crap about being KEPT? makes no sense.

No. If a woman wishes to do that, it is fine. I don't think they should be kept at home. That sounds so controlling! I do think the father and mother should talk about how they will raise their children. It is both of their responsibilities.

It is the woman's choice. She can stay home and bring up the children or she can work and the man can stay home and bring up the children. Or you both can work and balance it all. You can't force a woman to stay home with the kids you just have to figure out what works for you both.

If you seriously believe this statement, I can only assume that you firmly believe that women are the sole parents who are able to raise kids properly thus indicated that the father/male is incapable of raising children. I think you just insulted every father out there.

I think the day most women won't have to go out and work everyday there will be dancing in the streets.

Some of you men hold yourself in a bit too high esteem.

Stop kidding yourselves.

My husband and I both agreed that I should stay home with our kids. We both are kind of old fashioned.
