I'm wondering how common this is. I have a feeling that a guy I am dating could be gay but he still gets aroused with me. Maybe he is bisexual. Someone please tell me.

Bet he only becomes aroused while you are wearing a strap on.

Of course! This may surprise some people, but being gay is about much more than sex. It is, in fact possible to be asexual (not interested in sexual stimulation) and still identify as being gay.

In theory, biologically speaking it is entirely possible for any person to be physically aroused by any other. Some people however may have thoughts and mental issues that prevent themselves from being aroused by any given person. Your guy could be gay but find it easy to give himself physically, on an unemotional level.

Strictly speaking, no. A pure gay person is only aroused by members of their own sex.

Some guys who are bisexual but leaning heavily towards the gay side, will identify as gay in order to be accepted by other gays - and because they don't feel the need to act upon their "other" side.

Aroused by you? So, the question is what is it you're doing? Simply sitting there with legs dangling far a part across the arms of a chair or smooching up to him?

The reason I ask is it could be that some gay people are more aroused not by whom but by the situation - its quite normal - we rarely have control over our bodies when 'responses' are pleasurable!

Depending on how exclusively gay he is (as opposed to bisexual), he might or might not be aroused by the sight of an attractive woman. Most men, regardless of orientation, are aroused by physical stimulation; bear in mind that they are usually being stimulated by a man (nudge wink).

Most could, a few probably couldn't. The Male is easy to arouse physically, especially if they had their eyes closed. Just because a male is aroused dosent mean he is going to be turned on to it emotionally which is what would make him truly gay.

Sounds like he may be bi-sexual. What makes you think he is gay? Some guys give an impression they are homosexual but are clearly not. Probably they have just got some characteristics that may be confusing to some people. I know a guy who has the appearance of a gay guy but he is clearly heterosexual, but it's possible he is bi-sexual because once he let slip that he might like guys as most women he has known have given him trouble.
I guess it doesn't matter as long as your guy is giving you the attention you want from him and you like him.

Good luck x

Ummm, personally I have not been aroused in female company. Now if she really were to impose herself, and going by the nature of the organ, you could say it could be difficult to not remain unaroused. Though, I think it is unlikely. The guy you are dating could be bisexual. Why not ask him instead?

Many of them even get married!

In days gone by it was the perfect place for a gay man to retreat to wife and home. They often led double lives.

Nowadays there is not need for duplicity so gay men should be able to live ordinary lives within society, unless they first want children. Its a personal choice and many women do still get caught up in this type of marriage of convenience.
