Well isn't it true that dogs have some of the cleanest mouths? I know that's hard to believe after all the butt-licking they do but still. Anyways to answer your question I would have to say it would depend on the size of the dog and what I was eating. If they only took a little nibble I would try and eat around it. But if their bite was too big to do that then I'd probably just give it to them rather than throw it out.

I'm afraid I would give it to the dog to finish. People allow their dogs to lick their faces, and eat off of their plates, and spread the myth that a dog's mouth is cleaner than a person's. It simply isn't true. How can you sit and watch a dog lick himself clean after a movement, or eat from the kitty litter box, or lick his or her genitals for hours on end, then allow that animal to lick your face. I love dogs, but they're dogs, not people. They don't process information the same way that we do. Cats are even worse. They walk around in their own excrement in a box full of oil dry, then want to wander about the counters in the kitchen, or the table where you serve food. The scariest thing is that if you bring it to the attention of a cat owner, they wave you off, pooh pooh, it's not bad. Now ask yourself about the increased number of bacterial infections, and other nonsense that occurs simply because of these simple facts. It's absolute craziness....insanity.....lunacy.....

I would put any leftover food in the disposal, rinse the plate off in hot water, then put the plate in the dishwasher. They say a dog's mouth is cleaner, but dog's lick their butts, eat other animals, etc. Hope you who would eat off the plate when your dog is done, don't get rabies from his saliva. Are your dog's shots current?

I definitely would not throw it out. Since dogs mouths are reportedly cleaner than our own, I would either finish eating, or give the rest to the dog... depending on what food it was.

I'd let the dog finish it in its own bowl, then put it out after it gets a belly ache from eating table food, then I would put the dog out from now on at meal time.

It depends on what I made for dinner. It is clinically shown that dogs have one of the cleanest mouths around. I'm sure some people answering this have put something in there mouth a lot nastier.

I would give her the rest of the food. Even though dogs are supposed to have clean, germ-fighting saliva, after where her tongue has been, I wouldn't eat off that plate!

That's stupid. Of course I would throw it out. You have no idea where the dog's mouth has been and anyway, It's not healthy to eat what animals have been eating. NO WAY!!!
