Just curious to know .But would any guys out there date a transgender ,as in a woman who use to be a man .As long as you knew this right from the start .And would you continue in this relationship ,knowing this .....This question is mainly pointed at straight guys .I,m only curious 'cause Ive seen a lot of transgender women on Flikr and some of them look so convincing as women ,that if I wasn't married already and a T.girl fancied me and wanted a relationship ,I sometimes wonder myself if I would actually go for it .I mean I consider myself tobe a straight guy ,but if I saw a good looking T.girl ,I ask myself ....would I ??......Well ,would you??

That's quite an interesting question. I'm straight myself, but have been confronted with that question on numerous occasions. To be honest, I don't know. I mean I know they're still people in the end, but it'd be strange thinking that a woman I was dating was not born that way naturally. I understand it's a very controversial and provocative issue, so I don't wish to offend anyone. But to me personally, it'd definitely depend. I think I'd be more comfortable with a genetically-natural woman, rather than a transgendered woman. That's just the way I see it.

Why are you asking a question directed at straight guys on a gay board?
Anyway, fyi, "a transgender" is bad grammar. "Transgender" is an adjective, not a noun - one is a transgendered person, not "a transgender". You also appear to be thinking of transexual women - a specific category, while "Transgendered" is a much broader term.
Also, please, a trans woman was *not* "once a man." She is a woman. Period. She always was a woman. Trans people aren't some doctor's creation, no one "becomes" a man or woman via hormones or reconstructive surgery. Such medical options are just that - medical options, treatments which may make life easier or even possible, but they don't define us as human beings. One's identity is defined by one's mind/neural wiring/psyche/soul - medical treatment doesn't "make" one a woman or a man, it just makes evident what was already true.
And though discrimination is rampant and a heterosexual man who is known to desire or love a trans woman may face some of the same mistreatment trans people live with, this desire or love does not legitimately call into question one's heterosexuality. They are women. If a trans woman expressed interest in you, and you desired her, this is a heterosexual relationship.

No. But I dated a transgender guy who once was a woman. He ran a medical lab for a living, very intelligent, total scientist type.

As a gay man, I would only date a person that has a penis. I was married for 11 years. Once I had the courage to admit that I am gay, it's tough to consider going back to a woman, even if that person started their life as a man.

Yes, I would. It's not their fault that they were born with the wrong "plumbing." They are women just the same and should be treated as such.

no, but I'm gay so I wouldn't date any kind of woman regardless of whether she has a penis, a vagina, or a surgically constructed vagina
