We know the crimes they've committed, yet, they still both hold office.Treason is a high crime.Lying to the American people to go to war, outing CIA operates, invasion of privacy of Americans without cause, etc.Why aren't we protesting this present corrupt government? If Bill Clinton can be impeached for lying to Americans about a sexual incident that wasn't a matter of national security, why hasn't Bush been impeached for the thousands of lives that have be lost based on lies?

Unlike Republicans who "impeached" Clinton for show and to satisfy their base. The Democrats in both the house and senate know that it would take up to much time and money to go through the whole process. Yes we have the votes in the house to impeach.(Requires a simple majority) We don't have the votes in the Senate to convict. Besides it will be much more satisfying to see both of them brought up on war crimes charges after they leave office in 2009.

By war crimes, I mean the fact they both support and endorse the use of torture. They lied to the Amercian public to get the nation to war with Iraq.

This is the most common question asked on the playground. It has been answered thousands of times, but evidently still not with enough repetition for some to understand. But we must be patient, mustn't we? Once again (and please pay attention this time) impeachment requires that a crime, I repeat, a crime, I'll say it again, A CRIME has to have been committed by a public official before impeachment proceedings can begin. What is lacking here is THE CRIME. Until "making liberals really, really mad" becomes a crime there will be no impeachment of President Bush and Vice President Cheney. They are going to be with us until January 2009. They aren't going away until then.

I ask myself that question constantly. An the only answer I have is that the Collective Democratic party does not have one set of balls in the whole organization. The Democrats can not unite under one cause or get their heads out of their collective asses long enough to mount an opposition to someone like Bush who has committed reprehensible crimes against this country and the constitution. he has violated U.S Law and international law, and Clinton gets impeached fro getting a BJ..Its absurd.

Because of the Clinton debacle, Bush now will not testify alone or under oath,. Nor does he allow any of his administration to testify under oath. Anytime he is being investigated he Cries "Executive Privilege" he doesn't have to tell the truth that way.

Your question suggests that you don't know the meaning of "treason."
Are you suggesting Bush or Cheney have committed treason? What actions that they have done constitute treason, which is giving aid and comfort to enemies of the United States.

I understand that you disagree with President Bush's policies, but that is not grounds for impeachment. Clinton, by the way, was not impeached for lying to Americans, he was impeached for lying under oath. Lying under oath is a felony, a crime for which Clinton also lost his license to practice law.

If you want to impeach a President, you must identify specific acts that constitute felonies that he has committed. The things you list are either not felonies, or there is no connection between them and either Bush or Cheney.

You start with a false premise.

We do not know the crimes they may or may not have committed. If we did, we would be having impeachment hearings, particularly with a Democratically controlled Congress.

1. Treason is a high crime. Where is your evidence?
2. Lying to the American people, if it happened, is not a crime. It is not advisable, but if we threw out all of the politicians who lie, Washington DC would be a ghost town. Besides, I assume that you are talking about WMD's. This was not a lie. It may have been a conclusion reached with faulty intelligence, but that is not a lie.
3. Outing CIA operatives has already been investigated.
etc.

Let's go over this again. The Constitution calls for "high crimes and misdomeanors" for impeachment. Clinton did commit a crime: perjury in a civil case. If you want to argue that this is not a high crime, then go ahead. Apparently, enough of Congress agreed with you.

Impeachment is a serious issue. You are basically talking about overturning an election. You'd better have something more than, "I don't like the guy".

Saddam broke the conditions of the Armistice from the Gulf War.

The UN said "do it," nearly all of the Congress said it, and Saddam was removed from power.

Too bad Neville Chamberlain couldn't follow Bush's example.

Now....where did my property rights go, and who took them away?

(xoxoxo...let's all stay friends.)

We do? We know the crimes? Well then, golly, please list them for us because I'm sure not aware of any crimes committed by either the President or the Vice President.

Still, if you're aware of any, I, as an American citizen would like to be the first to suggest that you provide that information to the Congress so that they can get started on legal proceedings against these two men.

(You folks are totally beyond all understanding. Personally, and I mean this with no disrespect, I'm amazed that you haven't simply forgotten to breath.)

The absolute power held by Bush at the moment could delay any hearings until they were out of office, making the democrats look silly or getting the American people so fed up we would demand this administration out. Something that should have happened already, this nation is broken.

Hmmmmm, I have a sense that this query has been posted before.
The proof is in the pudding. Congress can vote articles of impeachment with a simple majority vote per the Constitution. They have not. Ergo, there have been no high crimes or misdemeanors.
If there have been in your book then run for office.
