It is your card company that sets the limit.
And for foreign use it often is something like €300 or €500 per day.

If you need more money in one day, contact your bank at home and ask them.

Idea. You will need your passport and Id. If you have one of those debit cards with a MasterCard or Visa symbol. You can do a cash advance at a bank. You will need to explain that the debit card work like a credit card and you can do a cash advance. Remember there will be additional fees both ways. Even through it a cash advance, it will still come out of your checking account. Just make sure you leave enough in your account to cover foreign transaction and any additional fees that you may be charged. Some banks wait to charge you the fees at the end of your checking statement cycle.
