No, if you need more connections that what your router has, then get a Ethernet Switch.

Try this one from NewEgg.com

- FOUR PORTS
Rosewill RC-405 10/20/100/200Mbps 5 Port Realtek Chipset SOHO Fast Ethernet Switch - $7.99

- EIGHT PORTS
Rosewill RC-406 10/20/100/200Mbps 8 Port Realtek Chipset SOHO Fast Ethernet Switch - $11.99

Cable is a very good deal at NewEgg also. Even the Generic ethernet cable is an awesome deal.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

No not really.

You dont need two routers for only one Internet line coming to your home.

Now if you had two different lines with two different ISPs then yes having two routers will help you. But then you'll have to set up a trunk line between them, load balance ect...

But even in the above case... you only need a second router if your trying to divide up your network because the current setup is slow and conjested, which will never happen in a home LAN.

The basic function of router is to spread out the signal (make it wireless) from source. Additional router will not help make your network maximize.

Not so but,
it certainly will increase your security level by making it even harder for someone to steal your info.
