Well, I always referred to them as the hangydown thingys that people put in the back windows of their cars across the top of the window. Now they call them pom-pom trim. So to me it's still the hangydown thingys...dingleberries. And of course, a real pair of "idgits" would also constitute the dingleberry title.

I was told that a dingleberry is the little globs of crap that are left on the sides of toilets when someone flushes and some of their crap stays stuck to the toilet.

well...there's this one
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=dingleberry
that's nasty....
but if you can't go with that...there's this one, which has the same meaning...
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dingleberry
yuck.
In the past, I'd have said a dingleberry was a "not so bright person"...but hey...you can think what you want, I guess. Just don't say it to anyone bigger than you...

I little rolled up bit of something, right? Like on a sweater?
Ewww... I just looked it up in the urban dictionary - NOT what I thought it was.
Won't be using THAT word again. How could I not know this - I am a grown-up (most of the time).

I think of it as meaning "fey".
In the absolutely most affectionate, nicest possible way.
(My dictionary doesn't contain the word "dingleberry"....)
Where have you been?? It's nice to see you! }:>

An incompetent, foolish, or stupid person.
As for definition #2, I don't even wanna know who came up with that one. There are some things we just don't need a word for.
