The best team does not always win. Baseball is very streaky. The regular season is best measured by the overall best team.
The playoffs like Billy Beane said "are a crapshoot" because if run into a hot team at the end of the year like Colorado, just three losses and your out.

It's a pretty good playoff system, because, in general, you have to be at least above average just to get into the playoffs (not like the NFL, where you can be a sub .500 team and make it) and you have to have a really good October.
I think the Red Sox was one of the best teams in the league this year, if not the best.
The Rockies just had a good September. That sometimes happens. Like the Cardinals winning the series a couple of years ago.
Baseball, with three levels of series play, is more likely to produce the "best" team than, say, the NFL. I think the playoff system is fine.

Yes, the Sox were the best team this year from start to finish. And no the best team does not win every year. A team that is just getting hot (starting a streak) can make the play-offs and take it all. The Cards last year is a good example--sorry Ricky Lee. But that's what makes the play-offs/WS great. Any 1 of 8 teams can take it all.

It's the Red Sox. Look, no team can 'fluke' 162 games. The standard is that once having made the playoffs you are required to win the DS, LCS, and then the World Series. No matter what a team looks like on paper, in 2007, The Red Sox were the only team to be able to accomplish what it takes to be called baseball's best. So, it's them.

THe best team won this year but in some years the hottest team does win, the Whote Sox a few years ago were not the best team all year but they were the best team in the playoffs, four starters that were just lights out...the bullpen got bored! They do not need to change the system, the best teams just need to always bring their best game to the playoffs.

I think it was Boston; I don't think that there was 1 dominate team but I do think Boston was better than the others. There are some years where there is a dominate team that no one can touch this year, it just had a bunch of teams and one just a little better than the others. It wasnt like in the NBA last year where Dallas got beat in the 1st Round; which they were clearly the best team that year.

I hate the Yankees because of the fact ever on condition that I knew what baseball replaced into, i replaced right into a die demanding Mets fan. I watch each and every pastime for the duration of their season, and that i cant stand it whilst the Yankees pull out a victory. I "hate" them because of the fact of two substantial reasons. My Uncle loves them and it is exciting to push his buttons whilst they lose. 2, I cant stand how their followers are continuously so cocky. They continuously think of that only because of the fact they are the "long island Yankees" that they are greater helpful than each and every person else. Plus, whilst people say: " nicely dont you already know that the Yankees have gained greater international series titles than the Mets?" It pisses me off. That replaced into the previous, it is the present. end relating what the Yankees DID, and what they must be doing NOW. Mets are the main suitable, base line. Yankees suck, base line. Phew, i particularly have been given into that answer. i think of i might of broken a number of the keys on my keyboard from urgent so frikin demanding. Lol Im no longer kidding you. thank you for letting me get my anger out.

The Red Sox tied for the best record in baseball, had the best Pythagorean record, and the league's best ERA.
I'm not a Sox fan, but come on - there's no doubt that the best team won last season. You can make the argument many years, but not for the 2007 season.

I dont think the best team always wins but, this year it is what happened. The Sox were the best team in baseball this season and they deserved to win.
