Maybe it is hallucination; there are types of hallucination that normal people can have. Or, maybe you can buy a digital voice recorder and that turn it on in the room and when it seems your frog had just said something, you can replay it on your voice recorder. Good luck with talking from. :)

My cat used to talk to me. I could recognize the different "meow" when she was hungry, or wanted to be petted, or let out.
And she could understand me, sometimes, too. She understood "no," and "dinner," and responded accordingly.
I miss her.
