Anything besides using birth control pills. I was on the pill but decided to come off of it because of its side effects.

Natural progesterone (identical to what your body produces) in a cream applied to your skin can help with PMS and difficult periods. You can find a lot of information about it if you do an internet search on "natural progesterone." Some of the benefits that birth control pills don't offer include no harmful side effects or cancer risk, as well as a better hormonal balance in your body. Generally you would use it from ovulation to the expected start of your period, or for the second half of your menstrual cycle. Natural progesterone is not promoted as a treatment because it is not patented by drug companies and they do not profit from people using it, but it can be very helpful. I encourage you to learn more about it and consider trying it.

Birth Control Pills

Yes, a birth control prescription will change your menstrual cycle. The monthly injection will make it so you flow very heavily for a day or two and then very light for a day or so and then end. But there is a problem with playing with your menstrual cycle. Your body is meant to work a certain way and if you mess with that, you're messing with the proper functioning of your internal organs. This is not a good thing. My ex-wife was on the monthly injection and when that time of the month came around, she flowed so heavily that it was almost a haemorrgage. She was also in a lot of pain. Her cramps would double her over. She said that the pain was very excrutiating and unbearable. Her doctor actually said the was haemorrhaging and had to take her off of the monthly injection. It was actually tearing her insides apart. That is definitely not good. If you must take the birth control, research it and discuss it with your doctor and find out what is the safest and still effective if you are sexually active.

Its better if you use the pills because that is ow my sister was she wanted to have a lighter and shorter period n so did i so she is now takin birth control pills but you have to see what the side effects are going to be check before anything if your ok with the side effects then go for it.It does work but dont use the depo shot because your body needs to release that bloos inside of you and if you keep it in there later on you wont be able to have kids that is `one bad thing about the depo shot thats only if u use it always but i consider birth controll go talk to ur doctor thats what me and my older sister did.

Sometimes birth control pills can help with that, but be sure to check out the side effects before deciding to use them.

Get on birth control pills, but don't forget there are serious side effects that can occur so you should think about whether the inconvience is worth the possible risks.

the pill. Also there is a newer type of pill that (after it's in your system) will give the advantage of having 3 periods per year.

You can go on the pill. There's one that only makes you have a period once or twice a year.

If you're bleeding very heavily you could have a medical problem. Please see a doctor.
