Don't we all sometimes? I don't like admitting I was wrong when a decision I made turns out to be not the best for me; that's when we can become stronger for it, pick up our pieces, and move on. People who ask questions (especially here) seem to run into that too; they'd rather have validation of their own viewpoints -- especially when they're wrong -- than confront the truth. Jesus once said that the truth will set us free; He didn't mention but left us to figure out that first it will tick you off. We all do this, but we need to be big enough to admit it.

Yeah for some reason deep down you always know the truth its like when you find out your partner had been doing the dirty on you - your not shocked - it just annoys me that if our instincts know these things then why do we decieve ourselves?

Yes. For eight years I convinced myself that I had nightmares because i didn't want to face the truth that my brother abused me when I was 5 years old.

Good question.
Breifly, I believe I have. Sometimes the truth hurts. But who can stand to live with the lie? It is so much worse.

I was in denial about an affair my boyfriend had....I think I felt that once I put a name to it,,,,I would have to do something about it,,,,so I put it off until I could no longer look the other way....someone cheating on you is so humiliating....it's likes he is saying,,,,you are not good enough...when in actual fact,,,,he was not good enough for me....I deserved better...and I got it....wonderful DH now....and Thank God,,I didn't marry this idiot..he is in his fifties now and has continued to cheat on all his wives...
