one of my answers was recently rejected with a violation notice [see the violation appeal board for specific details if you care].

I responded to a question that included foul language with a comment that I thought was politically protected free speech.

I used no foul language and attacked no specific individual. All I did was imply that the Democrats must like Hillary because of her questionable ethical stances on a series of issues.

Who else has been issued a violation notice for what seems like Constitutionally protected political speech?

Do we have some politically correct types wandering around the boards trying to have answers they dislike removed simply for their political tilt?

{Or is this another questionable ethical activity by a "misguided" low level Hillary campaign staffer??}

Naw. Not even they would stoop that low -- or would they?

I have. Here's the text of the "Violation" email I received;

Question: Do you know that you are just losing your money and your time in iraq and afghanistan?

Question Details: Because of a stupid president and a cynical vice president You are pathetic ! :-)) Victor bout: Puff ...you have to grow

Deleted Answer: Let's not forget the lives of our soldiers (3,857) and the lives of the innocent Iraqi civilians (71,259) that are being lost as well!

Can anyone tell me HOW that violates the TOS? I'd love to know. Someone disagreed with me and that's fine, but to have my answer removed BECAUSE you disagree is censorship and a denial of the truth. And though I may not agree with everything everyone here on Y!Answers says, I will defend to the death their right to say it.

Good luck with that, I don't think anybody actually reads the appeals.

But to clarify, you should know that your freedom of speech protects you from government censorship, but doesn't give you carte blanche on someone else's property (like Yahoo's site). They're as free to censor you here, as you are to ask me not to spray paint obscenities on your garage door (don't worry, I won't- it's just an example).

Besides, Yahoo doesn't even issue the violation notices anymore, it's all self-policing now. That means that enough people found your answer offensive enough to report, that it got pulled automatically. One of the dangers of this, is that a group of trolls (or maybe just one with multiple accounts) have been targeting users until their accounts get deleted. Hopefully they can get that resolved soon, or they'll just have a board with three trolls.

I've been seeing posts on this subject for days now and have had several answers deleted because the asker didn't like the answer even though it violated no community standard.

I even had one idiot report me when I actually explained the way to use the web to search for the very info he was requesting.

There have been a couple of times that while not using profanity I was a little contentious.

It's very interesting. I answered a humorous post, telling them that there's was the best one of the day. Then thanked them for the laugh. I got hit with a violation. For what?? It wasn't even political and I was censored.

I was violated several times, and a few of those answers , AND 2 QUESTIONS, did not violate 1 rule !

We need to DEMAND to know who is violating us, no more multiple Yahoo ID's, and Yahoo Answers give anyone who was violated a FAIR assessment BEFORE yanking your answer or question !

Here's my question that didn't get out of the gate:

Question: Predict how this particular illegal immigration loophole will be abused?

Question Details: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,310542,00.html

Violation Reason

Seems pretty darn controversial, huh?
