Al Queda undoubtedly capitalizes on anything it can, they are happy to use anyone.

It accepts it passively much like the Vietcong did. And the answer to your question is yes. But I refuse to believe that they do so intentionally or even know that they're doing it. I can forgive ignorance somewhat more easily than I can intention.

I believe many people do, especially unwitting conservatives, when they spread exaggerations about Al Qaeda's numbers and capabilities. I have absolutely no doubts in my mind that jihadist users feed those trolls, so they'll keep spreading fear, and doing Al Qaeda's work for them.
