Johhny throws rocks 1/3 of time, and paper 2/3 of time.
In case of a draw, we repeat until someone loses.
The loser must pay for the beer.

How should I play?

Hi,

You should definitely throw paper, because at the worst you'd tie, and have to go again. Basically you should just tie and tie again until he throws rock, then you've got him where you want him.

Hope that helps,
Matt

If you throw scissors on every turn, you'll win 2/3 of the time and lose only 1/3 of the time. There will never be a draw since Johnny never throws scissors.

However, if you throw paper every turn, you will tie Johnny 2/3 of the time, then inevitably beat him when he throws rock. This way you win only 1/3 of the time, yet you'll never have to pay for beer again.

The key element to this question is that you are both drinking beer. With this in mind, I seriously doubt he'll continue to throw rock 1/3 of the time and paper 2/3 of the time. You should probably just throw dynomite, that way you win every time.

There is no certain way to play him.

Why would you do anything other than throw scissors all the time? You'll lose 1/3 and win 2/3. Can you do better?

Update: Matt is right. I am wrong.
