I hear you. When people talk in general terms about "Asia" it is very difficult to know exactly where he /she is coming from.

ASEANS (south east asian people) think of Asia as themselves, the islanders , oriental people coming from Japan, Hongkong, Korea, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Burma, Thailand, Singapore, and all the other islands.

Those from the northern side however, also think of themselves as Asians, Indo asians, Chinese from China, it is a huge continent, so let us not forget the Marianas,Palau, and other islands. Is Hawaii part of Asia?

Where is the easternmost Asian country? The westernmost?
Confused?

The Asia which is Asia is not not Asia.

The Asia which is not Asia is still Asia.

Asia is a continent. The ony Asia that is not part of the Asian continent are the island continents that fringe it. Is that what you mean?

asia is the countries that are actually attached to the continent like china or korea, the detached countries are technically pacific islands. so if someone is say form the phillipines, techinically they are pacific islanders vs. chinese who are asian. hope that helped. : )
