Don't ask questions like this. It only gives idiots the opportunity to bash the SEC. I don't think the lower half could beat the non sec ranked teams but here's what i think.
Out of the SEC
Teams that would beat
Oregon Ohio and Kansas
1. LSU - of coarse
2. Florida
3. Georgia
4. Auburn
5. Alabama
6. Kentucky
7. South Carolina
8. Tennessee
9. Arkansas

Yes, I think Vandi could beat a few of the ranked teams.

If USC had any decent SEC teams on their schedule this year they would probably have a loss.

last year and the years before that, USC had one of the best teams in the country, while the rest of the conference was on life support.

LSU has an all time record against the pac 10 of 9-2.

From top to bottom the SEC is by far the best conference.

If you look at the 'BCS conference' matchups the SEC has...

Wins-
LSU v. Virginia Tech
Georgia v. Oklahoma St.
Auburn v. Kansas St.
Kentucky v. Louisville

Loses-
Tenn v. Cal
Alabama v. Florida St.
Miss St. v. West Virginia
Auburn v. South Florida

Yet to play-
Vandy v. Wake Forest
Florida v. Florida St.
South Carolina v. Clemson

(I probably missed some)

...the short answer is obviously no- because the SEC already has four out of conference loses.

Long answer- look at the conference loses! South Florida is 5th (of 8) in the Big East, Cal 6th in the Pac10, and Florida St. 5th (of 6) in the ACC Atlantic. Not very impressive.

Now look at the wins! Virginia Tech is a quality win, way to go LSU. However, Louisville is at the bottom of the Big East and Kansas St. and Oklahoma St. are midgrade Big12 at best- not wowing anyone there.

I see that you are one of those SEC nuts that have their heads in the sand. Well keep it there one day you are gonna get your head out of the sand and find out that there are other good teams in the world besides the ones in the SEC.

Southern California has not lost to an SEC opponent in the last 6 years and we were suppose to be playing the class of your so called league.

Last year we beat Arkansas who won the western division of the SEC and played for your SEC championship as a matter of fact we laid 50 points on that Arkansas team.

Arkansas came to Los Angeles to years ago and we laid 70 points on that team. Tennessee lost to California this year

Now do I think that Washington or Stanford the bottom of the PAC-10 would beat LSU or Georgia of the SEC hell naw those are elite teams in your conference.

Don't assume that the SEC is the best around and could beat teams by showing up.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

Nah. Don't get me wrong, I'm as big a UGA fan as you'll find. But I love college football across the board and try to keep an honest outlook on who's good and who's not. The SEC obviously has some very good teams year in and year out, but then so do all the other conferences. Call me crazy, but I'm thinking Ole MIss would have some trouble with Oregon.

What about SEC teams beating non-ranked teams?

Because as I recall, Florida State beat a RANKED Alabama.

Well after Tennessee lost to Cal and Auburn lost to South Florida, I would have to disagree with your assumption. I think the SEC went 5-2 in bowl games last year. While the SEC is the strongest conference, all teams are susceptible to losses.

Get real....I'm and SEC fan, but the run of the mill SEC teams certainly aren't better than the good teams from other conferences.
