I don't know about your claim about false conservatives but regardless the next President will be white, male and republican. The fact is America is not yet ready for a woman or even a black President.

Actually, the national debt is not that big of a deal, and is no larger a percentage of GDP (a common measure) then it was in 1996. I'm not a big fan of jacking up the national debt, but it's not the boogeyman everyone makes it out to be. The debt NEVER has to be repaid, but merely rolled over as it comes due. If we can balance the budget or keep deficits low in the future, it will become easier and easier to service that debt in the future, not that it's a great hardship now.

However, I won't be surprised if the GOP loses the White House. As a party, they've done a pretty poor job of governing at least since 2005.

The good news is that the Dems aren't fielding great candidates, nor is the Democrat controlled Congress doing a good job either.

Clinton has no core convictions and can be counted on to do the expedient thing. This is obvious from her stances on issues, and how they change. She won't govern from a core set of convictions.

Obama shows over and over he's just too inexperienced. He'll make a great candidate in 2012 or 2016 after he picks up some more experience.

And Edwards is just a shyster class warrior. If his Senate record is ever scrutinized, it will become obvious to everyone he never did a damn thing to help the poor.

i do no longer see the way it won't be in a position to be. If politicians have the "coattail" consequence while cases are sturdy, then its logical to think of that the alternative is actual. Bush's popularity is low sufficient so as that an self reliant who sees an "R" beside the call of a candidate could no longer prefer to vote for her or him. the only available argument i could mount against your assertion is that it may no longer be the regulations that are answerable for it. it particularly is probably available that the cyclical financial equipment replaced into headed for a recession anyhow, and that no coverage that Bush might have put in place might stop it. on account that human beings frequently vote with their wallets, his social gathering loses votes even nonetheless his regulations at the instant are not what inevitably began the financial downturn. yet that argument ignores different issues (Iraq, deficit, etc...), and is no longer easy.

Hey, we survived one Clinton, we can survive another. What I find interesting is the fact that winning in the congress last year seems to have ticked off the liberals even more than they were before. If they follow this trend of throwing hissy fits every time they win I can't wait to see what happens if a democrat wins. Frustrated and angry liberals might just actually leave the country!

I don't know, I am a true conservative, but I won't be angry. Disappointed, yes.....angry, no.
I will still do well financially in spite of whoever the liberal dems coronate, because as much as they would like to,even they cannot screw the system up THAT bad......it will be bad, but still possible to succeed.

If the Democrats win, I won't be angry. They will have to face Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda will kick their butts.

You may be right, the "false" conservatives will be upset. Those conservative whose values are intact and not hell-bent of taxing us to death will be the policy makers again.

I won't be angry or surprised. I think that America needs some "tough love" reality for a few years (taxation to the max) and then they'll be ready to take care of business and return to our roots.
