Where I live in the Eastern Standard Time Zone, the moon rises at 10:38 am. Yes, I know that doesn't sound like night time but that is when my local weather page tells me the moon rises.

Okay here is an easy way to find out when the moon will rise for you.

The "full moon" will rise at sunset, and the "new moon" will rise at sunrise.

So, our moon is currently a "waxing crescent"(check the link).
Therefore, the moon will rise 9 hours BEFORE sunset or 3 hours AFTER sunrise, whatever that might be, depending on your location.

my bad, i had put 9 hours after previously...

Here we go again.

Do you not realise that the moon will rise at different times depending on your location?

The internet is global, my friend. Some of us live on the opposite side of the world. But even in your own country, the moon will rise at different times, depending on where you are.

Give your location, and ask your school to include more basic astronomy in their curriculum
