in my office it would include jeans. though I don't wear them every day. Maybe 2 times per week. I wear a lot of chino type pants in varying colors. I also wear skirts. either chino material, denim, wool, etc.
You can dress up jeans with a nice button down shirt and a blazer or sweater.
in the summer I wear a lot of skirts, since I feel that shorts are just way too casual. Even pushing the envelope for business casual.
j. crew and ann taylor loft are my favorite stores for that business casual type look. You could also look in to macy's INC Brand and Nordstroms Caslon brand. They are nice polished casual.
if you are going to do jeans everyday, be sure they are a dark wash, no distressing, either straight leg or boot cut. those are more of a "dressy" look jean than just normal saturday work in the yard jeans.

My work is similar. Business casual means no jeans, no flip flops, etc etc. People today dress down too much. If you want to be taken seriosuly you have to look the part you want. I always wear dress pants to work, or skirts, but never mini skirts. I never wear sleeveless shirts, or low cut tops (the ones that are low cut I always wear a cami under them never showing any cleavage (not that I even have any to show! lol) Ballerina flats or low heels are a good bet. Never flip flops, never sneakers. Fridays you may wear jeans, but make it look good with a black sweater or collared button down shirt. If you look professional people will take you more seriously and you will get raises. seriously :)

I work in an office too and that is our dress code. Everyone normally wears kahkis or another type of dress pants, with either heels or flats and turtle necks or long sleeve shirts.
I usually wear dark jeans with heels or flats, and button up shirts or another type of long sleeve shirts or a nice short sleeve shirt with a blazer, sweater, or jean jacket.

Business casual can mean jeans, depending on what your job is. Usually dark fitted jeans is the best. Definitely look at J.Crew, their clothes are sophisticated and perfect for the office. Old Navy stores also have a nice work clothes, and Gap is classy too. Good luck :)

Well, I worked front desk for years and I wore jeans, my boss just said it had to be dressy jeans and not just everyday jeans but I had to wear a dressy/casual top. So jeans can be dressy as long as you are following policy then you are fine. You can always take it a step further. No one is stopping you. It just shows your dedication.
