generally the lake, because you have so many more options of ways to have fun (boats, skiing, tubing, etc. etc.) and i dont care for chlorine that much. however i will go to the pool, but its more for laying out

I prefer to swim in the ocean. A lake is nice, too. I just like how there's more room there than in a public pool, and that there's no chlorine.

Pool...I don't like swimming with fish and the pool has chlorine so I know it is at least a little clean whereas the lake water who knows what kind of bacteria is growing in there.

I have never swan in a lake, i have swam in a pond... but not a lake. So i will have to say a pool. The water is probably cleaner.

Most definitely, a pool. Lakes creep me out. Can't see whats on the bottom. There may be dead bodies down there that you don't know about. Yikes!
