I think the Griswalds electrified their Christmas tree in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. That cat never climbed the Christmas tree again, God rest it's soul.

I agree why do you have you're christmas tree up already lol? You must really love christmas.

I think the squirt gun is a good idea or you could get some of that stuff that smells bad to them and put it around the base of the tree, not sure what it is called but I know they sell it so you can keep your cats out of your plants and what not. Check your pet store.

I think the squirt gun idea is excellent. In fact, get a huge one that's fairly obvious. The idea is, after you do that once or twice, just picking up the squirt gun will get the cat to leave the tree immediately.

Haha a squirt gun sounds like it would work...what about there is some kind of spray taht you can get that cats don't like...not sure how it would do with the tree...go to your local pet store and ask...I'm sure they will be able to help you.

uggghhh, i have been through that a million times. I think the squirt bottle works the best. Good Luck!!! My cats used to get up to the top and start play fighting and knock the whole dang thing down.!!!

yeah use a spray bottle! give him a little squirt when he decides to do his climbing! also cats hate the smell of citrus if you have some kinda spray you could use in that area! you would just have a tropical Christmas! :)

LOL!!! My cat did the same thing when she was a kitten! I tried everything I would think of but nothing worked... But now she is 3 years old and out of the crazy kitten faze and leaves the tree alone ( for the most part) lol

If your kitty is anything like mine, you will just have to wait until she gets older, fat and lazy. =P

Good Luck and if you find out anything that works PLEASE share!!! =)

a little squirt gun would be good but try to keep the cat in a different area.

Wait until he is actually on the tree, and then squirt him with water. I bet he won't do it again.
