I Am, Pedroia Is A Heck Of A Player. Ryan Braun Was UnReal In Posting Full Season Numbers In 3/4 Of A Season. Sorry To The Tulowitzki Fans. Troy Had A Great Year Too.

I agree about Pedroia. He was the stand out rookie for the AL. As for the NL, they had a lot more possible winners and it must have been a hard choice. I think if you went by stats alone, Braun deserved it.
Just need to mention that Pedroia did not win because the Sox won the WS. The votes are all cast before the post season.

I'm fine with Pedroia winning the AL, but I don't think Braun deserves NL more than Tulo. Sure, Braun hit 10 more homeruns than Tulo did in 3/4ths of a season, but he also led all NL fielders in errors (with 25) in that same 3/4ths of a season. But don't fault Tulowitski for earning the starting job in spring training, he still led all rookies in RBIs and set a record for homeruns by a shortstop. That should have been Tulo's award.
But, I guess that's just the way Baseball has been headed for last decade. Who cares if your defense sucks as long as you can hit the long ball.

I think they were both no-brainers in the end. If Tulowitzki hadn't tailed off by the end of the season, he would have won it. But let's face it. Braun hit 30 points higher, had 10 more home runs and just 2 fewer RBI with 150 fewer at bats. Yes, his defense stinks, but if voters had ignored those numbers, they'd have been nuts.
BTW, to the answerer above who said Chamberlain will win next year, I'm pretty sure he was on the Yankees' roster for more than 45 days, so he won't be eligible next year.

I think the AL was pretty much a no contest. Ellisbury will win the AL next year as well. but for the NL Braun should not have won. His defensive numbers stunk, and would be better suited as a DH like ortiz. Troy T. from Colorado had WAY better defencive numbers than Braun from a significantly harder position (3B vs SS) and Tulowitski's offensive numbers were still impressive. This just goes to show how under-rated true defensive Talent is (I'm still disappointed John McDonald wasn't a gold glover).
EDIT: My bad. he did play 3B. even still, no one cares about defense. SS is way harder to play WELL. you need more range, and more speed and both need good arms but the SS in an awkward position always throws just as well as a 3b who has time to setup. SS>3B

I'm so happy Ryan Braun won ROY. I think everyone knew he would. Tulo was okay playing the field, but had no where near the numbers that Ryan did. Imagine if Ryan played the whole entire year.

Pedroia sucks so enough of that. Ellsbury sucks so he wont win next year. But congrats to Braun who definitely deserved it over Tulo. People overrate his defense when compared to his offense. If he had hit 30 HRs and 110 RBI then I could see him for ROY... otherwise he's no snub.
Next years winner: Joba Chamberlain. Write it down and take a picture folks. It's already in ink.
Next years NL winner= Justin Upton.

to correct ken_krus... Braun played 3B not 1B, and I think 3B is HARDER to play than SS.
Braun deserved it.. Slugging % 155 pts higher than Tulo, and monster offensive numbers for being called up on May25.
Tulo is definately good, but... Braun was better.
