I am trying to use an older Lcd (VGA only) monitor as a TV monitor. The coax cable it would be connected to is attached to a Tivo like box that only outputs a coax feed in the room I'm attempting to place the monitor. So I need an adapter that has an input of a coax cable and a output for a vga monitor (and a separate wire for sound). Thanks

Problem:
Trying to connect an external video device to the computer so it can be viewed on the monitor.
Solution:
Using a simple cable to connect them together will not work due to the differences in video formats. A device called a "TV to PC Converter" is needed. This device will convert the TV video format into a computer video format.

47 inch monitor?? Wow. No, there is no VGA 2 coaxial adapter. A monitor that big should have come with some other input besides just VGA, maybe s-video or DVI or RCA? If it just has VGA input, then you're stuck with going through a computer using a video card with TV-in capabilities.

NOPE, coax (composite video) is totally incompatable with A VGA monitor without investing in a "scan converter" to convert the composite to RGB signals.

If you MUST do so, try www.blackbox.com for a scan converter
